I’m a mom, and also a woman who has struggled with body image from very early on. I find it super hard to love and appreciate my body, but this experience has allowed me to see myself in a new light. I plan on making an annual trip up to see Kara for a boudoir session, I felt empowered from the moment the day started. Hair and makeup, then off to her studio for the best part of the day.

OMG my experience at Midnight Sun was literally one for the books! Any insecurity I had was eased and addressed with understanding and empathy. Kara has a special talent for being honest but uplifting, empowering women to feel confident about themselves. We need this in these times of Instagram models and filters, invasive procedures and the Botox revolution. The amount of money women are willing to spend on their search for perfection is insane. That’s why we need to do boudoir sessions NOW.
I can tell you, this has given me the confidence I needed and that we all need! It’s easy to see our flaws all the time, I hate most photos of myself, but with a little makeup, curling iron, amazing lighting and a skilled photographer that boosts you up and makes you comfortable, you’ll see yourself in a different light! No Botox needed. You will be shocked to see yourself! It’s absolutely crazy how undressing with all your insecurities actually can do the opposite of what you think, will make you feel confident as hell like a stunning sex kitten (or TIGER! MEOW), letting loose and not covering it all up!
My only piece of advice is to do this for YOU (and bring a lil Prosecco if you’re nervous!). It’s sad to hear that some women are only interested in this sort of thing to make themselves more attractive to another but honey… relationships (often) don’t last forever. Make this investment for YOU! Confidence is the sexiest quality a person can have and this session will make you feel more confident and sexy on your damn own (well with Kara’s mad Skillz too of course)! She makes you feel so confident and can find the right words to make you relax!
Trust the process. I was OCD and particular about my makeup but I left it all in the studio’s hands and it turned out better than I could have imagined! Your images will turn out beautiful just like you! Newsflash… you don’t need someone else to tell you that you’re beautiful. You’ll finally believe it for yourself after this session! (And guess what? I haven’t even seen all my photos yet and this is how I already feel!) Kara is a queen and I feel so lucky to have spent my day with her yesterday!

"I first heard about Midnight Sun Boudoir because I received an invitation from a Facebook group. I had never heard of boudoir before, but Kara’s work looked so amazing, I needed to try it for myself. I was a little insecure about my body type, but the session made me feel amazing and comfortable [because she was] so friendly and welcoming. My session was better than I ever expected it to be. It went so quick, I had so many options from the Client Closet, and I definitely feel more confident about myself. Kara made me feel so beautiful inside and outside...I really can’t say how thankful I am.
For those who think they are too nervous or shy to do a session, I was kind of the same way. My husband was the one that talked me into it, but not because I am shy or nervous, because I needed to feel myself again. Before this session, I was constantly killing myself in the mirror. At the end of the experience, [my husband] was totally right...I was feeling myself and left the studio feeling like a goddess. Seeing that sneak peek, made me realize how hard women are on themselves not realizing that people see more than just their body. I was so vulnerable in this session. "I first heard about Midnight Sun Boudoir on Instagram. I just thought boudoir was sexy photos and a confidence builder. I am a full-time student, [but was] in a spot where I needed to relight the fire inside of myself!
I had a fear going in that I wasn’t going to take good photos. But the day of my session, I [felt] confident, sexy, bold, and spicy! I was nervous but really excited! [The session] was perfect. Kara described it very well so I was prepared, [but] I was not prepared for how hot I could look LOL.
My advice to other women who haven’t booked a boudoir session, would be to please book! It will be so worth it! Everything changed about the way I see my own beauty, sexuality, sensuality, and body! I felt so pretty, confident, bold, and sexy! Even weeks later, I feel the same.

I keep replaying [my session day] in my head, I woke up early painted my face to the gods, curled my hair and hopped into my car stoked for my session but weirdly kinda nervous. Okay girl get it together, grab some coffee and throw on some Salt and Peppa- get amped!
I met Kara, walked into the studio and the vibe was so welcoming. Nerves what nerves? Yeah we don’t experience them anymore. The space that she has created in the studio is beautiful and perfect all at the same time. She turned on some classic rock as I changed and we jumped right into it! She explained everything she wanted me to do perfectly (even if she had to move and place my legs for me lol).
She is so welcoming and comfortable that it’s super hard for you to not be yourself, goofy dancing/lip singing to Queen and Tom Petty in all. She brings out your inner goddess and shows you how to be your most confident self. Before I knew it we were done. I didn’t want to be done, let me throw on another outfit and let’s keep going!!
